Meet Teresa R. Fleming — strategic thinker, culture shaper, and the founder of HR Maven Collective™.


With over 8 years of hands-on HR experience across nonprofits, startups, tech and health-focused organizations, Teresa brings both sharp insight and grounded leadership to every engagement. Her background in psychology (M.S., 2014) and Human Resource Management (MBA, 2023) gives her a rare dual perspective: one that understands people and systems in equal measure.


Originally from Kansas City, Missouri and now based in Los Angeles, Teresa combines her Midwest roots with West Coast vision. She leads with warmth, clarity, and a deep commitment to building HR frameworks that actually work — for the business and the humans inside it.


At HR Maven Collective™, Teresa has redefined what it means to partner in HR. She builds real relationships, creates space for growth, and helps organizations scale with confidence, compliance, and culture at the center.

HR Maven Collective™ was built out of purpose, people, and real experience in the trenches. I didn’t start in HR — I started in the heart of it all, as a youth therapist. I’ve sat across from people navigating trauma, crisis, and survival. That’s where I learned the power of systems that actually support people — not just paperwork.

Over the years, I transitioned from direct service to building the kind of HR that centers humans and keeps organizations solid.  HR Maven Collective™ was born to fill that gap — for nonprofits, grassroots orgs, mental health providers, creatives, and start-ups that care about their people but still have to keep their operations tight.
