Make room for the mission.
Nonprofit leaders, care teams, and community organizations carry meaningful responsibilities. Clear HR systems give them more room to focus on the people they serve.
A Kansas City foundation. A Los Angeles home. A practice shaped by psychology, business, and a lasting commitment to people.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, and now based in Los Angeles, Teresa R. Fleming built her career around a lasting interest in people: how they think, what they need to do well, and how their environments shape their experiences.
Her background in psychology, including earlier work as a youth therapist, taught her to listen carefully, consider context, and look beyond the first explanation of a problem. Those habits continue to inform how she approaches workplace concerns and supports the people involved.
Her M.S. in Psychology and MBA in Human Resource Management connect that understanding of people with the realities of running an organization: setting priorities, managing resources, and making decisions. Human resources became a natural fit—a place to use both her passion for people and her business judgment.
HR Maven Collective™ brings those interests together. Teresa’s vision is to give leaders a partner who can help them think through a difficult people decision and work alongside them on the systems that support it. The conversation and the practical follow-through both matter.
That purpose is especially meaningful in her work with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations. The people helping others need support of their own. A commitment to service is strengthened by clear expectations, thoughtful supervision, dependable payroll processes, and a place to turn when a workplace question becomes complicated.
For Teresa, good HR connects care with accountability. It means listening to employees while understanding what the organization needs to operate well, then translating that understanding into useful guidance and workable processes. Her aim is to help the helpers keep doing their work with greater clarity and confidence.
Psychology informs our approach. Our services are HR consulting, not therapy or clinical care.
Nonprofit leaders, care teams, and community organizations carry meaningful responsibilities. Clear HR systems give them more room to focus on the people they serve.
A shared purpose does not remove the need for fair expectations, consistent pay practices, thoughtful supervision, or a safe way to raise a concern.
We connect the everyday details to the larger picture: sound decisions, responsible use of resources, and people practices that can grow with the organization.
HR Maven Collective™ is led by Teresa, with specialists matched to the needs of an engagement. We value both deep expertise and the ability to see how one decision affects the rest of the organization.
Our engagements reach organizations across the United States. As we build toward a global practice, we welcome relationships with specialists who bring local knowledge, cultural awareness, and experience across markets. We confirm the expertise, working arrangements, and local requirements needed before expanding an engagement.
Teresa guides scoping and the relationship. Responsibilities and the working team are agreed at the start of an engagement.
Payroll, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, HR operations, and workplace technology specialists contribute where the scope calls for them.
Clients know the scope, decision owners, communication rhythm, and when an issue needs legal or other specialist support.
Listen to leadership and the people doing the work. Clarify the goals, context, and current practices.
Identify gaps and priorities. Separate urgent concerns from longer-term improvements.
Develop the policies, workflows, and action plan that fit the organization and agreed scope.
Put the plan into practice with documentation, communication, and manager support.
Review what is working, address what is not, and adjust as the organization grows.
Tell us what your organization needs. We’ll talk through where HR support can make a practical difference.
